After a crazy successful first summer of bike camps in the Whistler Bike Park, The Camp of Champions is back for 2007 with an even better mountain bike camp. Head coach Brent Floyd, one of the best freeride mountain bike coaches in North America, is back as head coach and this year he’s bringing even more of his friends to coach. Camp - You ride the park all day with your pro coaches then have more fun after riding playing paintball, hitting skyline ziplines and more all with your coaches. We say coaches because with Camp of Champions you aren’t locked in to one coach. Everyone learns differently and everyone coaches differently so it’s great to be able to ride and learn from a coach that suits your style.
Under head coach Brent Floyd, we have Wendy Robinson, Vanessa Stark, Neil Meier, Ryan Newman and Ryan Hayes as the main coaches you will learn a lot in a short amount of time. With the lifts doing the hard work, you can ride thousands of feet of vertical a day and get better at singletrack, jumping, and north shore style obstacle riding. All the coaches from Brent on down know every vertical inch of the bike park and they will take you from where ever your ability is now and take you way past where you ever imagined. Best of all we have a fleet of top of the line 2007 Norco Park Edition A-Lines. During your session you get to ride the bike designed and built for the Whistler Bike Park. It doesn’t get any better than that. The bikes get tuned everyday so they are always perfect. COC is what a summer camp is supposed to be. The only Kum By Ya at this camp is Kum By Ya – ON THE LEFT!
Every year we push the limits of what’s expected of a summer camp and make sure that from the moment you wake up in our plush hotel to the minute you fall asleep that you have had the best day of riding and the most fun you possibly could have. After riding our asses off all day we have included activities, most of which cost you extra at any other gravity camp, paintball, skylines, driving range golf, mini putt golf, cruiser bikes for trips to 7-11, road trips to the Squamish skatepark, skating the Whistler skatepark, going to the lake and if you have any legs left we have cross country bikes for riding some of the 300 miles of singletrack that is in the valley. We turn our hotel into the best playground ever. We start with a one bedroom suite that sleeps three, has a kitchen and living room, then we add a games room with a pool table, foosball table, ping pong table, vintage arcade video games and pinball machines, giant screen TV, six Mac’s set up for video editing and all with high speed internet access so you can IM your friends that didn’t come to camp and tell them how badly they missed it. In addition to deals at bike shops and stores all over town, we also have The COC shop where you can pick up cool limited edition COC products like custom Dakine backpacks and gloves, custom Zimtstern jackets and hoodies and all kinds of other dope stuff. If that’s not enough we also hooked up with the local 8 theater movie complex for free movies when you go with your coach. Camp can best be summed up with one word. Epic.
