Well I never realy thought clips were a good idea for dh/freeride, I take my feet of the pedals way to often but a friend of mine sd that he used clips all the time and cldnt live without them so I was curious, I dont think i've ever seen a pro rider ride with clips anyways.

Check this guy out http://www.stevepeat.com/ he rides clipped in and I think he wins a few races.

Well now i'm impressed, if Peat rides clips I guess the idea aint that far fetched then... He's good though cuz in all the videos i've ever seen of him I never noticed he was riding clipped.

I still think i'm better off without them, I bail to many times to be thinking about unclipping...

Clip pedals make you so much faster. When you have flat pedals all of you power is pushing down on the pedals. In clippless, you can pull up as well as push down. If you are goind to ride downhill I would suggest something like the crank brothers mallet pedal. It is big enough that you can ride clipped in or clipped out. As far as bailing while you are clipped in, it is harder if you are in the air. But after a while you wont even think about it, you will just do it.
