Well, I guess I have to admit that the snowboard season has finally ended. Not too bad of a season....
80 days 2nd place: Badger State Games Superpipe
6th place: Midwest Open
Superpipe Rail Jam Finals 3 times Whole lotta fun
But I guess it's time for season two. Yep, time to start getting ready for next season. I don't really skate, at least I won't admit that I do, so I have to keep track of something else.So here it is.....
Total miles on my mountain bike this season:
43.72
**Well, I went out the other day and hit up some closed singletrack trails that are going to open in a week or two. The trails are awesome, fun climbs with some pretty technical decents. But, karma got me back for riding the closed trails by bending some stuff in my back drive train. I took it into Eric's Bike Shop (Best shop in Madison) and $90 and a new back hub later I have a bike back in service. Moral of the story....Quarry Ridge Trails are going to be awesome. **

I
ride alone alot, which gives me a lot of time to think. For the last couple days, I've been thinking about what I see missing in snowboarding. The pure and simple joy of riding. I think back to last season and teaching my younger brother how to snowboard. There were a so many things that brought a smile to his face that each and every one of us takes for granted.
-
The first time walking out on a real ski hill, not just our backyard. He smiled.
-
The first time he made it to the top of the rope tow without falling. He smiled.
-
The first time he linked together a few turns before falling. He turned back to me, was smiling and said "Jake did you see that? I turned both ways"
-
The first blue run he make, top to bottom without falling. He completely forgot of the other 30 times that he'd fallen that day, and he was smiling.
-
The first time he got a little air of a roller on the trail. He turned back to me and asked "Jake, did I get off the ground that time?" When I said yes, he smiled.
It wasn't that long ago that you were just trying to stay up the entire tow rope. How about the next time you're out boarding, just smile because you're there.
Year-to-date snowboarding: 50eight days! New season total personel best!
I'd just like to thank my sponsors:

Well, the new V.2 of snowboard is out, and I'm still not a hundred
percent sure about it. Mostly because I have to re-learn everything. I
think in the long run this will be a great asset, and I've already
found some stuff that I like.
If anyone knows how to post pictures on the new blogs, let me know,
because I have a couple stellar ones that I really want to show off,
but the standard [img][/img] doesn't seem to work.

So I was at a car accident yesterday....how is it that a passenger can be killed from their injuries, while the driver doesn't even get a scratch? funny how those things work.

Quote of the Day
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."
check back for the new and old quotes
So I'm starting a new Quote of the Day or maybe it'll be 2 or 3 days. Anyways.....
We used to laugh at Grandpa when he'd head off and go fishing. But we wouldn't be laughing that evening when he'd come back with some whore he picked up in town.
All kinds of new pictures!
